When Amitabh Bachchan shouted at Jaya Bachchan and the reason was Rekha!
The love triangle between Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya and Rekha has been going on for the last few decades. It is believed that the onscreen chemistry of Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha was well-liked by the audience after two unknowns in 1976. Reportedly, their romance blossomed in real life as well. But no one accepted it in a public forum. But the stories of Rekha and Amitabh are still in the hearts and minds of the people. It should be noted that Amitabh was already married to Jaya Bachchan in 1973. While we often take Jaya quiet on things, it was Amitabh who once yelled at his wife and the reason was none other than Rekha.
Journalist Karan Thapar in his book Devil’s Advocate – The Inside Story recounts the incident in a very detailed manner. When Karan was interviewing Big B and Jaya together, the journalist asked the megastar about their alleged affairs and relationships. At first, Amitabh was asked about his affair with Parveen Babi, to which he replied, “No. I have also read such stories. They are not true. But I can’t stop magazines writing such things.” can.”
Then when Amitabh was asked about Rekha, he replied, ‘No, not even with her. Then the interviewer turned to Jaya and asked her if she believed in him and she replied, “I have always believed in my husband.” Everything was calm till this time. But who knew it was the calm before the storm.
After this interview, Amitabh invites the journalist for lunch where Jaya offers her husband some rice. Out of nowhere, Big B shouted at Jaya, “You know I never eat rice. Why are you giving me something I never have?” Jaya tried to explain that he gave her rice as the rotis were still being made. But Amitabh was still angry. “I don’t want rice! I’ve never had rice and you know it. I’m not complaining that the rotis haven’t arrived, but stop giving me rice instead. I’ve said I don’t want rice and I ‘ I’m happy waiting for the loaves. Can’t you understand? What’s the matter with you? Why can’t you just listen to me?” They said.
The journalist concluded, “Jaya left the room and never returned. The rotis appeared shortly after and Amitabh started eating. The rest of us had no appetite.”
