The weekend curfew introduced in Varanasi to contain the rate of corona infection is no longer applicable. District judge Kaushal Raj Sharma has ordered that a uniform rule be implemented for seven days. Dairy, fruit, vegetable and grain shops as well as sweets, excise duties and groceries are opened until 1 p.m. The previous order from Saturday to Monday is now considered to have expired.District Judge Kaushal Raj Sharma said the orders issued on May 10 will now also apply on weekends. There used to be orders to close all shops except milk, vegetables and fruit from 8 a.m. on Friday evening to 7 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

However, a similar rule was enacted later in the week to avoid the slowing pace of corona infection and the sudden market rush. Here retail stores for milk, vegetables, fruit, muesli, excise duties, sweets and groceries are open seven days a week until one o’clock in the afternoon.

Industrial activities and hardware stores can be opened as they would on normal days. All shops, shopping complexes, shopping malls, commercial establishments and religious establishments that have already been banned will remain closed. There will be no public and religious activities of any kind.All couriers and transportation offices are exempt from the ban as required in hospitals, shops, medical check-ups, ambulances, and medical facilities associated with medical facilities.
