Due to incessant rains in the hilly and plain areas, the water level of the Ganges has started rising. With the increase in the water level at the speed of 4 cm per hour in Varanasi, the people living in the coastal area have increased again. The people, who had suffered the brunt of the floods last month, are again afraid of the floods. According to the Central Water Commission, the water level of Ganga has reached 64.55 meters.
Here, due to the torrential rain for two days, people who were suffering from humidity for several days may have got relief but water logging became a disaster at many places. In urban and rural areas, people are forced to live in darkness due to power cuts due to water logging on major roads as well as in colonies. Roads were also damaged.
