Pilibhit. People have been suffering from persistent scorching heat for several days. The mercury reached 39 degrees Celsius on Thursday. The closed air retains the moisture.
After last month’s rains, people felt that now with the onset of monsoons there will be some relief from the heat. But the persistent heat of the past three days has made everyone restless. The maximum temperature is 38 to 39 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is 26 to 27 degrees Celsius. Since there was no wind, it was a humid summer on Thursday too. Due to the strong sunlight in the afternoon, there was less crowding in the markets and the streets looked deserted. There was no relief in the evening either. Everywhere, from the market to the houses, people were troubled by the heat.
The agricultural scientist Dr. Shailendra Singh Dhaka said that the monsoon suddenly got light. It is expected to stay hot for two to three days now. But after a change in wind direction, the weather may change on July 4th or after.
