Winds from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal have changed the course of the weather. On Monday it rained heavily in the surrounding cities, including Kanpur in UP. 25 mm of rain was registered in Kampur. This has given people relief from the humid summer.
For the first time this season, there is uninterrupted monsoon rains. It’s been raining slowly since July last year. According to the Meteorological Department at Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSA), 250-300mm of rain can fall by the end of the month.
The Indian Meteorological Service has issued warnings of heavy rain and lightning in most areas of the state through July 22nd. This also includes the Kanpur-Bundelkhand area. There is a risk of lightning in the Ghatampur, Bilhaur, Kanpur Dehat, Banda, Chitrakoot, Etawah, Auraiya, Orai and Fatehpur areas.
