Due to the lower runoff in the upper Ganga Canal of Haridwar, the Ganga water reaches very little in Palda of Bulandshahr. Its effects began to decline on Agra from Monday. The Jal Nigam Gangajal unit has appealed to the population to keep water for two days during the supply and not to waste it.According to RK Gupta, Project Manager of the Gangajal Unit of Jalnigam, the outflow from Haridwar through the Upper Ganga Canal has decreased. Its effect began to wear off at the Palda waterfalls in the city of Buland, which means that Agra also gets less gangajal. This discharge takes less than two days.

Under the Agra Water Supply Scheme, Agra receives 140 Cusec water from the Palda Falls in Bulandshahr, which reaches the Sikandra and Jeevani Mandi waterworks. There is a supply of Gangajal throughout the city. There is also a 144 MLD MBBR facility at Sikandra Waterworks but due to Gangajal it only handles 72 MLD.

get less water

RK Gupta, project manager of the Jal Nigam Gangajal Unit, said that the water from the upper Ganga Canal is only decreasing at the Palda Falls. The outflow from the source of the Upper Ganga Canal at Haridwar has decreased. For this reason, less water will be available at the Sikandra and Jeevnimandi waterworks. Half the city got no water on Monday either
Sikandra Waterworks received no power for five hours from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sunday due to repair work on the Sikandra 220 kV substation. When the system started up in the afternoon, at 7 p.m., the power went out again because of the storm. For this reason, the systems and machines were shut down.

When power was restored late at 2 a.m., the facility was running motors for cleaning and pumping. Because of this, there was no water supply on Monday morning. Water reached the area with direct supply, but in the evening the supply was restored after the tanks were filled. The water supply was back to normal after a full 48 hours.

People upset about lack of water for two days

People continued to worry about water since Saturday evening, as there was no water available all day on Sunday and on Monday morning. There was a fight for water at the submersible pump and from children to the elderly, TTSP reached the tanks to fill water.

In areas like Sikandra, Awas Vikas Colony, Bodla, Kedanagar, Shahganj, Lohamandi, Kailashpuri, Khandari, Lawyers Colony, Dayalbagh, New Agra, Sanjay Place, Surya Nagar etc. RS Yadav, General Manager, Water Department Resources, said the System could start operating at 2:00 p.m., after which cleaning and pumping began. It took time to fill the tanks so it must have been a problem in the morning, but the water was enough in the evening.
