German Ambassador to India Walter J. Lindner visited the Elephant Conservation and Care Center in Mathura, which is operated by Wildlife SOS, to learn more about species protection. Saw elephants brought to the center for lifelong care and treatment. He also supported the NGO’s “Refuge to Ride” campaign, which draws attention to the plight of elephants in India. Walter J. Lindner arrived at the center on Wednesday. He spent time watching the elephants, who now get a second chance to live a life free from abuse and cruelty. At the Center for Elephant Conservation and Care he learned about elephant management as well as scientific and humane techniques such as positive conditioning and goal training. This was followed by a session with the elephant care staff and veterinary team to learn about their efforts to create a better, healthier future for these center animals and how they bring the dangers and challenges to the fore when protecting elephants in India. He was also very disappointed to hear the heartbreaking past of these elephants.
