President Ram Nath Kovind disembarked the Maharaja Express presidential train at 8:05 p.m. on Friday evening in Kanpur Central. Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had reached the main train station 10 minutes earlier to greet him. The train reached Jhinjhak station in its own time, but instead of 15 minutes, the president stayed there for about 40 minutes. From there the train left at 18:41. In one such situation, the train arrived at Kanpur Central at 7.45pm, was 20 minutes late and arrived at the Central Station at 8:05pm. The president came to Central amid tight security. The media weren’t allowed to pass either. The Chairman of the Railway Board Sunit Sharma accompanied the President from Delhi. 312 people including his family got off this 15-car train.
Pilot train arrived in Kanpur 16 minutes ago
Due to the security precautions in front of the presidential train, the escorted pilot train arrived 16 minutes earlier at 7:49 p.m. at the main station, which passed directly at the Chandari station. At the same time, the presidential train was parked in a security circle on platform 10.
