Aligarh. The online workshop on using the Open Athens Remote Access Tool in Research Support Services was organized by the Maulana Azad Library, Aligarh Muslim University in collaboration with EBSCO Information Services, New Delhi. The aim of the workshop was to train AMU teachers and researchers in the use of seamless services to access library resources with the Open Athens Remote Access Tool from any location on any device (mobile, tablet or computer) during the pandemic. . Vice Chancellor Professor Tariq Mansoor said the AMU Central Library is dedicated to modernizing and facilitating access to digital and electronic resources for teachers and researchers. He said the workshop will be organized at the right time as the academic world is reliant on remote and online media for teaching and research due to the pandemic. Professor Nishat Fatima, the library’s acting librarian, said digital libraries are ensuring continuity as Covid has brought academic activity to a standstill. The deputy librarian Asif Farid Siddiqui spoke about the academic support offered by the university library. Around 270 teachers and scientists took part in the workshop.
