They made their big screen debut together in Karan Johar’s Student of the Year, and went on to collaborate on blockbuster films like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania for director Shashank Khaitan. The first part of the Dulhania franchise was released in 2014, and the second part came out three years later. Pinkvilla has now learned that the creators are planning to develop a third movie in this popular franchise.
“The Dulhania franchise is very special to Karan, Varun, Alia, and Shashank, and the team really wants to come together for Part 3. They have discussed some ideas among themselves, however, they still need to finalize the script. They’ll find out the other logistics once the story closes. Like the first two parts, the third film will also thrive on romance, lovable characters and story, and the overall innocence of the characters,” reports a source close to development.
Varun on working with Alia in the future
In a recent interaction with Pinkvilla, Varun opened up the possibility of collaborating with Alia again. The Bhediya actor had said that he wants to work with Alia and it may happen in the future. “She’s very close to my heart and we share amazing chemistry. You just can’t do it today. We’re good friends, we take care of each other and we respect each other. I’m really looking forward to working with Alia again.
