The boom in the Ganges in Banaras is not taking its name. After submerging many areas, the Ganges is now moving towards the city. At the same time, due to the rising water level, the temporary dam built in Tikri broke on Wednesday. After the dam broke, the flood waters started moving rapidly towards the settlements. According to the Central Water Commission, the water level of Ganga was recorded at 72.12 meters at 6 pm.
On Wednesday morning, the process of increasing the water level of Ganga continued. At the same time, the situation in the flood-affected areas has become critical due to the late night rains. People have been troubled by the floods in the coastal areas of Varanasi. Hundreds of families have had to flee and take shelter in relief camps.
