The White House said on Thursday that the US is to accept 100,000 refugees fleeing Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and provide an additional $1 billion in humanitarian aid to those affected by the war.
“The United States is announcing plans to welcome up to 100,000 Ukrainians and others fleeing Russia’s aggression through a full range of legal avenues, including the refugee entry program,” it said in a statement that US President Joe Biden said in a statement.
