Siddharthnagar. The dilapidated 24 km long two main roads in the rural area of ​​the district are being rebuilt. As part of the government’s Accelerated Economic Development Scheme, the upgrading and strengthening of these roads will be carried out by PWD at a cost of 64.86 crores. The people in 150 villages around these streets will be relieved of the traffic problem.
The 11.80 km long road from the district headquarters to Karauti, Raksa, Sekhwaniya via Dhensa, Palia, Kathana, Kadjahwa has become dilapidated. This route is used by people from more than 65 surrounding villages to travel to other locations, including the district headquarters. This road has collapsed and turned into potholes. During the rainy season it becomes difficult for pedestrians to walk on this road due to the mud and waterlogging.
24.86 crore has been approved by the government for the expansion and reinforcement of this road. At the same time, the 12.50 km road from Chilhiya to Paltadevi, Bajaha, allows people from more than 80 surrounding villages to move as well as people from this road to the Nepalese border to other locations, including the district headquarters. The condition of this road has deteriorated. This has made it difficult for both vehicles and people to walk.
The government approved Rs 40 crore for widening and reinforcing this road. Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, chief engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD), has sent a letter to the chief secretary of the Public Works Department asking him to take action in advance for the construction of the road. RS Yadav, Executive Engineer, PWD said that once the funds are allocated, road works will begin.
