An oxygen system with a production capacity of 1000 liters per minute is being built in the district hospital. Bijnor, with a population of about 42 lakhs, did not have a government-level oxygen facility. Oxygen cylinders were supplied by private factories in the district or Muzaffarnagar, etc. In the second wave of corona infections, people were in a lot of trouble because of the increased need for oxygen. With this in mind, the government emphasized the production of oxygen. Since then, the exercise to set up an oxygen system in the district has started.
CMO Dr. Vijay Kumar Goel said that as with the second wave, there was no battle for oxygen in the third wave. For this purpose, oxygen systems are being built in the district. However, the guidelines for the third wave have not yet been clarified. Currently, construction of the oxygen system has started at the District Hospital and Sayohara Community Health Center, while construction of the oxygen system has also started at the District Women’s Hospital and the 100-bed hospital complex of Dhampur. The oxygen system will be ready soon. Thereafter, oxygen will be readily available in almost all state hospitals in the district.
