Two courses can be closed in Polytechnic
Pubic. There are two out of three programs at Government Women’s Polytechnic that have very low admissions. If the number of admissions does not increase in these, both courses can soon be closed.
The Government Women’s Polytechnic was established in the district in 1989. There are three courses in the fields of computer science and engineering, electrical engineering and fashion design and clothing technology. There are 60 places in each course. From 2014, the trend among female students in computer science and electronics declined. For this reason, there are hardly any 10 to 15 places for girls. All other places remain free. Almost all places are occupied by fashion design. The Institute for Research, Development and Training has recommended the suspension or closure of courses with low admissions at universities of applied sciences.
Two courses were also held in the Red Zone of the Shamli State Women’s Polytechnic. If in such a situation the number of admissions in computer science and electronics at the women’s technical colleges in the district does not increase this year, these courses can be considered for closure.
Jitendra Kumar, director of the state women’s polytechnic, said that admission to the polytechnic is advertised every year. By sending a team to Girls Inter Colleges, attention is drawn to the universities of applied sciences. Even after that, admissions will decrease in relation to the number of places in IT and electronics. He says there will be more advertising this time so that the maximum number of admissions can be achieved in these two courses.
