Deputy District Judge Ramesh Kumar has formed a team from Lekhpals to stop illegal mining and transportation. The team has been instructed to take action on-site in illegal mining areas. On Wednesday, financial staff was informed of the illegal transport of sand from Duddhi train station by tractor wagon via Rajkhar Marg. The capture team reached the village of Jabar and signaled to stop two tractor wagons loaded with sand. Instead of stopping the vehicles, the drivers increased their speed. A driver reportedly tried to trample two team members with a tractor trolley, but the staff escaped and saved their lives. Then the driver fled with the tractor. The finance staff, however, seized a tractor wagon loaded with sand. This information was given to Tehsildar Vikas Kumar Pandey. Tehsildar said Lekhpal Vimlesh and others opened an investigation after receiving information about illegal sand transportation. If the tax officials hadn’t run away, they would have been hit by the tractor wagon. He said that the individuals involved in illegal mining and transportation will be identified and a complaint will be filed with the police. Illegal miners are not spared.
