In the afternoon, however, the power supply could be reached for two hours. At the same time, people faced many problems due to the lack of electricity.
The district’s power grid is in poor condition. Due to the proliferation of shabby electrical cables around the city, all kinds of errors occur on normal days. In one such situation, Wednesday night’s pouring rain broke the back of the electricity department. Deliveries from the city to the rural areas have ceased. The five MVA transformers at the Ajitpur power plant failed. For this reason, the supply was also stopped on Thursday for the whole day. Five MVA transformers could not be replaced due to rain. In the morning, the department heads began their efforts under which some maintenance work was carried out, but the installation of a new transformer could not be completed. Because of this, there was lightning all day. However, the supply was switched on for two hours in the afternoon, but then interrupted again. Superintendent Engineer SK Garg announced that the transformer will be installed at night, after which the supply will be normal.
