Ingredients for making Urad Dal

Whole peeled urad dal 100 grams, four to five tomato puree, fresh cream one cup, red chili powder, garlic paste, ginger paste one teaspoon, cumin powder, garam masala one teaspoon, green coriander finely chopped, butter Salt as per taste.

How to make Dal Pakhtuni

To make urad dal, first clean it thoroughly and soak it in water for six to eight hours. When the lentils swell completely, take it out and keep it in a pot. Wash off once more with water. Put the dal in the pressure cooker. Simultaneously add salt and water according to taste by adding lentils suitable for cooking and bring to a boil.

When the cooker whistle opens, keep it aside. Now put butter in a pan and melt it. When the butter becomes hot, add garlic paste and ginger paste to it. Fry both these pastes well. When both of these are fried, then add tomato puree. It will take two to three minutes for the tomato puree to cook. After cooking, the puree will leave the butter from the sides. When the tomato puree is cooked, add boiled urad dal to it.

If the urad dal looks thick, then add one more cup of water to it. Mix it well and let it cook for four to five minutes. After this, add cumin powder, red chili powder and salt to this lentil and boil it. After this add garam masala and stir and switch off the gas. Lastly add fresh cream and chopped green coriander and cover it. Delicious urad dal is ready. You bread it. Can be served with paratha and rice.
