Saharanpur The distribution of free food grains to food card holders during the Corona period has gained momentum. Within three days, food grains were distributed to more than three and a half lakh cardholders in three days. That’s 61.20 percent of the district’s ration cards. This delivery lasts until May 31st.
In the era of the corona transition, under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, five kilograms of food grains per unit are made available to all food card holders free of charge. Sales started on May 20th. This program will benefit 5.84 lakh grocery card holders in the district. Previously, the first phase of regular food distribution was completed by May 17th. Free food grains are distributed in the second cycle. Two kg of rice and three kg of wheat per unit are obtained. The food grains are distributed through 1,243 grocers in the district. There are 5.84 lakh grocery cards in the district. Of these, 54618 grocery cards come from Antyodaya Yojana and 529382 grocery cards from eligible households. All Antyodaya Cards or Eligible Household Card Holders receive free food grains per unit.
