Thieves ransacked Shiv Prasad Pandey’s home in Gorari village in the Robertsganj Kotwali area on Thursday evening. The thieves took away gold and silver jewelry and cash. When the police received information about the incident on Friday, the police inspected the area. Upon reporting the victim, the police registered proceedings against unknown thieves.
Shiv Prasad Pandey, a resident of the village of Gorari, slept in the next part of the family house around ten o’clock on Friday evening. After midnight, thieves climbed onto the roof from the back of the house and broke into the house. The thieves broke the locks on the boxes and stole the jewelry, cash and other items stored in them. The incident became known when the landlord and other family members woke up around 5 a.m. on Saturday morning. The victim immediately informed the police. SSI Ash Khan said the victim filed a complaint for theft of gold and silver jewelry worth around two lakh rupees and thousands of rupees in cash. SP Amarendra Prasad Singh says SWAT, surveillance, SOG team and Sadar Kotwali police, under the supervision of City CO Rajkumar Tiwari, were used to catch the thieves.
