The actual history of Varanasi is likely older than the pages of history. It is one of the ancient cities in the world. According to the Puranas, Kashi settled in the name of Kash, the 11th generation king from Manu. According to the Gazette, Varanasi will celebrate its 65th birthday on May 24th.
Varanasi was founded on May 24, 1956 by State Minister Dr. Sampurnanand officially recognized. On the tenth page of the Varanasi Gazetteer, published in 1965, the date of the change of the administrative name of the district in Varanasi is dated May 24, 1956. It is just a coincidence that according to the date given in the Indian calendar, Vaisakh was the sum of the full moon and lunar eclipse.

The fame of the city in the Kashi part of Skanda Purana is said in 15,000 shlokas. In the Matsya Purana, Lord Shiva describes Varanasi and says Pu Siddhagandharveshvita.
