Even a month after its release, ‘The Kashmir Files’ is breaking all records. It has become the first film to cross the Rs 250 crore mark by the 32nd day of its release. ‘The Kashmir Files’ was released in theaters on March 11. The film is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus during the 1990 Kashmir insurgency. It stars Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi. From the very first week of its release, this film started getting very good response.
According to a report, ‘The Kashmir Files’ has crossed the Rs 250 crore mark. It has become the first film to touch such a huge figure during the Corona epidemic. Despite having limited show screens, the film earned 50 lakhs on Friday, 85 lakhs on Saturday, 1.15 crores on Sunday in the fifth week of its release. After which the film has crossed the Rs 250 crore mark and has earned a total of 250.73 crores.
Today has been 32 days since The Kashmir Files released on the big screen. The film had a tough competition with the superstar’s film Bachchan Pandey like Akshay Kumar. But The Kashmir Files remained strong in its hold only after its release and collected 97.30 crores in the first week, 110.03 crores in the second week and 30.95 crores in the third week.
The Kashmir Files is based on the lives of Kashmiri Pandits during the 1990 Kashmir insurgency. The film is a true story, a heart-wrenching tale of pain, suffering, struggle of Kashmiri Pandits. The film also questions eye-opening facts about democracy, religion, politics and humanity.
