Miss Universe Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu has been in legal trouble after The Kapil Sharma Show fame Upasana Singh filed a lawsuit against her for allegedly breaking her contract. Harnaaz is set to make her debut in the entertainment industry with Bai Ji Kuttange, a Punjabi film produced by Upasana Singh.
According to a news agency report, Upasana sued Harnaaz for not honoring the signed contract for the promotion of his upcoming film. Upasana said she had given Harnaaz a shot in her movie before she won the coveted Miss Universe title in 2021.
In her lawsuit filed in the Chandigarh District Court, Upasana has claimed that Harnaaz refused to give dates to promote Bai Ji Kuttange despite having signed the agreement, which ensures that she would be satisfied personally and virtually available with Entertainment Studio LLP. Upasana has sought compensation from Harnaaz for damages caused by breach of contract.
In addition to Bai Ji Kuttange, Upasana said that he also gave Harnaaz a chance in his film Yaara Diya Poo Baran. She said that she has spent a lot on her next movie. The trailer for the film premiered on August 1 and will hit theaters on August 19.
Harnaaz brought the Miss Universe title to India after 21 years. The title was previously held by Lara Dutta Bhupathi in 2000 and Sushmita Sen in 1994. A few months ago, Harnaaz was brutally fat-shamed after gaining weight. He gives it back to the trollers and reveals to them that he has celiac disease.
