The Fablemans (English) is scheduled for release on February 10, 2023. The Fablemans is the coming-of-age story of an aspiring filmmaker in the 1950s. Sam Fabelman (Gabriel LaBelle) lives with his mother Mitzeee (Michelle Williams), her father Burt (Paul Dano) and her sisters Regina (Julia Butters), Natalie (Keely Karsten) and Lisa… (Sofia Kopera) New Jersey, USA Burt is a computer genius who works with his best friend, Benny (Seth Rogen). Mitzi is an expert pianist but she had to give it up to raise her children. One day, a very young Sam is taken by his family to a movie theater to see The Greatest Show on Earth. Sam is shocked to see a scene where a train crashes into a car and is then hit by another train. Sam requests a model train for Hanukkah. He crashes his miniature train into a toy car like he saw it in the movie. Bert is disappointed, but Mitzeee understands the reason why she did this. They have a video camera and Mitzi asks him to record the fight. Sam agrees to the suggestion and soon begins filming regularly. The Fabelmans later move to Phoenix when Burt gets a better job in the Arizona town. Sam grows up and the family helps him when he shoots movies. Burt sees it as a hobby, but Sam insists that he wants to pursue a career in movies. Burt argues that there is no point in doing so because according to him it will not help anyone in any way and one must do work that is useful to society. As Sam deals with his father’s estrangement from him, he takes another blow when he learns that his mother is cheating on Burt. What happens next forms the rest of the film.
