Ikauna (Sravasti). The Ikauna unit of the Uttar Pradesh Primary Teachers Association organized a meeting at the Central Primary School Ikauna on Thursday. The incumbent President Uttam Chaudhary chaired the meeting. Various demands, including old-age pensions, were discussed at the meeting. At the same time, a 21-point letter of demands was sent to the government on the issues raised at the meeting.
At the meeting, various teacher problems such as implementing the old pension, cross-district transfer, cashless medical facility such as state employees, filling vacant positions in community schools at the earliest, abolishing the merger system, giving jobs to relatives of deceased teachers as per qualification and discussions about easing the TET for Graduates from BTC, BEd, etc., the allocation of jobs to the relatives of deceased educational friends and trainers according to qualification and the determination of the duration of the cook and the granting of a minimum fee. At the same time it was unanimously decided that if the government did not take these teachers’ demands into account, teachers would be forced to take to the streets.
