Chatauli. The problem of drainage of main roads and streets in the city became serious. Failure to clean drains and garbage deposited on the banks of the drains will keep the streets wet for a long time with the slightest drizzle.
The drains intended for drainage in the city are not properly cleaned. The drains are clogged due to the polyethylene and other debris in the drains. The outflow from Ganganahar to Ashok Vihar is in poor condition. The same goes for the Budhana Road drain. The situation is that only after a light drizzle is flooded water in other places including GT Road, Post Office Gali, Biddiwada, Railway Road, Saininagar, Islamnagar and Jainnagar. Due to the accumulation of dirt on the side of the drain, the water does not get into the drains for hours after the rain has stopped, which means that people have to pass through the dirty water.
Manav Gupta, a resident of the city, says the community claims to clean the drains before the rain, but everything remains limited to paper. Only after a light drizzle does water come out of the drains. Which is becoming a problem for the city’s residents. Jameel Ansari says the community did not make any preparations before the rainy season. The drains that drain the city’s water are completely clogged. When it rains, the houses below fill with water. The lack of drainage in the markets leads to waterlogging in the shops, which causes retailers to suffer a lot.
The incumbent EO Nepal Singh says the drains will be cleaned. The drain from the GT Road has yet to be cleared. After leaving Ashok Vihar behind, the drain is closed and its water is released into a plot of land. The problem occurs after filling.
