Tendua Danger – Leopard enters house with family members trapped in a hut

Pilibhit. A leopard entered the house in Katkwara, a village next to the PTR. This touched the villagers. The family somehow locked the leopard in a slum-like house. As soon as the information was received, the team of forest workers, including the deputy director, reached the site. For security reasons, the surrounding houses were secured by installing khabar (nets). In the evening we tried to get the leopard out, but the leopard stayed in the hut until eight o’clock.
A leopard that came out of the forest on Tuesday entered the Sitaram’s hut in Katakwara village, just 100 meters from the Barahi Mountains of the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve. The nervous house made noise and the villagers came by too. Meanwhile the leopard entered the hut. The villagers bravely showed the door to the hut. Because of this, the leopard was captured in it. The villagers gave information to the Barahi Range forest staff. The Range team reached the point. The PTR’s assistant director, Naveen Khandelwal, the subdivision’s forest officer, Praveen Khare, and the PTR’s veterinarian, Dr. Daksha Gangwar, also reached the place.
At the direction of the officials, forest workers secured the houses by installing messages. The authorities planned to chase the leopard towards the forest in the evening. In the evening the hut opened from one side, but the leopard stayed in the hut. The leopard was still in the hut until around eight o’clock in the evening.
