On Wednesday the last rites of Ramesh Singh, resident of Gothani Ghatihata, Gram Panchayat of the Jugail Police Station took place. Ten-year-old son Harsh Singh set the body on fire at the ghat that was being built near the village on the Son River. People’s eyes filled with tears when they saw this compassionate sight.
Ramesh Singh (45) lived in Dubai and used to work. There he died on May 13th. The family applied to the State Department for the body to be sent to India. At the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the body was brought to Lucknow by plane on Tuesday. From there, the family reached the village with the body late on Tuesday evening. As soon as the corpse arrived, the village was in chaos. Wife Aruna, father Krishnabali Singh and children were in poor condition. The five-year-old younger son Vikas could see his father sunk in his sleep. He kept trying to wake his father. The body was cremated on Wednesday morning on the banks of the Son River near the village. The eldest son, Harsh Singh, lit the fire.
