Teenage boy dies by drowning in Gandak River
Kothibhar (Maharajganj). Sahajad (14), a resident of Gajru Tola in Siswa, went swimming with friends in the small river Gandak in Khesari on Wednesday afternoon, where he drowned. The body was pulled out with the help of villagers. The Kothibhar police recorded the Panchnama operation and handed the body over to the relatives.
According to the information, Sahajad, a resident of Gajru Tola, Siswa City, went to the Khesari village assembly with friends Sanwar and Ayan to bathe at the Hajminiya Ghat on the Chhoti Gandak River. Due to the high water pressure when bathing, Sahajad began to drown in the water. After that, Sanwar and Ayan made a noise. Across the river, Balwant Kushwaha, a resident of Rampur Gonhan Tola Madarhawan, village assembly of the Khadda Police Station in Kushinagar District, worked on his territory. When they heard the children’s voices, they reached the spot and somehow got Sanwar and Ayan out by jumping into the river. Sahajad could not be traced. Somehow, with the help of humans, the teenager’s body was pulled out of Choti Gandak. The inspector in charge, Kothibhar Dhanveer Singh, confirmed that the body was handed over to the family members by mutual agreement after a panchnama.
