Karaana. On the instructions of the DM, the task force formed under the direction of the SDM inspected the Mamaur and Mandavar sand mining sites. During this time, it turned out that mining at both sites had stopped due to water ingress in Yamuna.
A joint Treasury-Police task force formed under the leadership of SDM Uddhav Tripathi arrived at the Mamaur Mandawar sand mining point on Sunday. The team measured at both breakdown points and compared the sieves. Other parameters were also checked. SDM said mining has stopped due to Yamuna water arriving at both points. JCB machines and other vehicles involved in mining operations were found off the point. The SDM said the investigation report would be presented to DM Jasjit Kaur. If the investigation reveals an irregularity, further action will be taken.
