Chitrakoot. Minister of State Chandrika Prasad Upadhyay and District Judge Shubhrant Kumar Shukla launched Bharat Ka Amrit Mahotsav’s campaign on Friday. As part of this, a promotional vehicle, bicycle rally and the government-planned Crop Insurance Week were launched to promote the Prime Minister’s Fasal insurance system. Meanwhile, the Minister of State said farmers should get crop insurance.
On the premises of Collectorate, the Minister of State said it was decided to celebrate Crop Insurance Week to promote the Prime Minister’s Fasal Bima Yojana and meet farmers’ aspirations. In the past there was also plant insurance, but it had many shortcomings. That was removed by the committee formed at the central level. The district judge said that in promoting the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, efforts were being made to insure more and more farmers and to pay them compensation if they were at risk. Last year the district sourced 15,000 metric tons of wheat at MSP rates, and this year 30,000 metric tons.
On this occasion, the Minister of State and the DM honored the employees of the crop insurance, banks, public services and the farmers who profited from an oversupply with certificates. The program was led by subject matter expert Sunil Kumar. The deputy agricultural director TP Shahi, ADM GP Singh, the district agricultural officer Basant Kumar Dubey, the assistant accountant KL Nigam, Ashish Kumar etc. were present.
