Surbhi Chandna on Sherdil Shergill going off the air; She says, “The audience probably wanted to see the Manmeet-Raj romance more than her marriage.”
The Sherdil Shergill TV show is set to go off the air on February 10th. Surbhi Chandna, who plays the female lead of the show, talked about it in an interview and shared how it was a wonderful journey for her as it was a limited show.
Surbhi said, ‘It was a limited show and I’m glad there was no pressure from the channel regarding ratings. We wanted to present Manmeet as a woman of today, who becomes a mother through IVF and then falls in love with her office trainee. Viewers enjoyed the office pranks and the romance between Manmeet and Raj (Dheeraj Dhoopar). I think the wedding hint came too fast and the audience may not have taken it well. They wanted to see more romance and how Manmeet falls in love with Raj instead of a sudden wedding on the show. But since it was a limited show, the creators decided not to drag any tracks, never stick to the same point over multiple episodes, and let the show progress at a steady pace. So, I’m happy that the show was filmed as a limited show or a web show and I get to play a completely different role than I’ve done in the past.
Surbhi, who is also known for her roles in TV shows like Ishqbaaaz, Sanjeevani, and Naagin 5, is now eager to explore the web platform. She said, “TV is great and when I was doing Sherdil, I was offered a few projects, but due to scheduling issues, I couldn’t do them. If there’s an interesting opportunity, I’d love to do television, but right now I’m looking forward to exploring the web medium.
