Ambedkar Nagar. On International Olympic Day, the District Hockey Association, under the auspices of Hockey India, organized a seminar at Dev Indravati Mahavidyalaya Katehari to discuss the importance of the sport. Speakers said that exercise can keep us fit and bring credit to the country, including our families and our district. The citizens were called upon to motivate their children and their relatives to participate in sport.
On the initiative of Dr. RP Singh, State Secretary and Sports Director of Hockey UP, celebrated International Olympic Day at Dev Indravati Mahila Mahavidyalaya on Wednesday. The citizens gathered under the banner of Hockey India have pledged to strengthen the sport according to the Kovid standard. The seminar, organized later, began with garlands and lighting of the image of Mother India. Thereafter, Neeraj Mishra, Chief Guest District Sports Officer, described sport as an integral part of life. Said everyone has to contribute to the expansion of the sport. Said youth and children are promoted quickly under the direction of the sports director.
The chair of the program, Rana Randhir Singh, president of the District Hockey Association, said that sport is one such discipline that makes both our bodies and minds healthy. This Covid pandemic has proven that whoever is healthy is safe. He warned that if we continue to focus on sport, we can not only stay fit, but also add value to society, family and the country.
Foreign Minister Dr. Hanuman Pratap Singh said during an extensive discussion about the Olympic Games that everyone should be associated with sport. This not only increases our immunity, but also develops a feeling of friendship. Sports activities in the district have taken on a new dimension in the recent past. It will be further strengthened. National hockey player Harshita Singh shed light on the history of the Olympics and the country’s performance as she shed light on the game of hockey.
