The health of Samajwadi Party MP Azam Khan has deteriorated again. He is being transferred from Sitapur Prison to Lucknow Medanta Hospital for admission. Azam Khan was self-treated under medical supervision in prison for several days, but after his condition did not improve he was sent to Lucknow on May 9, where he was treated in Medanta. After 64 days of treatment, doctors at Medanta Hospital discharged him on July 13, saying his condition was improving and his health was better. On July 13, he was transferred from Lucknow to Sitapur Prison.

Azam has been in jail with his son Abdullah for the past 5 days. Meanwhile, Azam’s condition worsened again on Monday. It is said that Azam’s oxygen levels have dropped to 90. As soon as the information came in, there was an uproar within the prison administration. After receiving the information, prison director Suresh Singh, Jailor RS Yadav, a team of prison doctors arrived at the site. Azam was examined, but when the oxygen levels continued to drop, it was decided to take him to Lucknow as his condition was critical. An ambulance was then called and preparations are being made to take the ambulance to Lucknow Medanta Hospital.
