In Sonbhadra’s Myorpur Gram Panchayat East Deohar, angry villagers themselves started repairing the road damaged by rain. On Sunday, the villagers worked hard throughout the day to make the road walkable. Two months ago, the road was washed away for some distance in Ajangira village of East Deohar due to torrential rains. The villagers made several requests to the village head and the block administration to get the road repaired, but the hearing was not held. On Sunday, the villagers started repairing the road under the leadership of Udayraj Singh of the village. Udayraj told that the road was washed away in the first rain itself. The village head was called several times to repair it, but it was not repaired. Due to the bad condition of the road, people face lot of difficulties in commuting on it. Many people have been injured by falling at that place. Thinking that the road would not be built by the administration, the villagers unitedly repaired the road and made it walkable. Seeing the work of the villagers, people kept discussing. Rambachan, Ram Narayan, Ramrati, Ranjit Singh, Dev Kumar, Ram Lakhan, Bachcha Singh, Ramroop, Ramavatar and all the villagers were present during the repair of the road. The residents of the colony made the road Renukoot by doing labor donation. Even after being included in the Gram Panchayat Murdhwa and Khadpathar’s Renukoot Nagar Panchayat of Mayorpur development block area, residents are upset due to non-availability of basic facilities. The road was not even repaired during the rainy season. Due to the arbitrariness of the Nagar Panchayat administration, the residents of Prakash Colony, Khadpathar, collected donations and decided to get the road repaired. On Sunday the road was repaired and made walkable. The residents of Prakash Colony of Khadpathar were upset due to the accumulation of water on the way. Due to non-availability of drainage facilities, people were facing a lot of trouble due to water logging on the way. Rakesh Srivastava and Kameshwar Yadav, residents of the colony, said that they have appealed to the Nagar Panchayat administration several times regarding the construction of the road, but nothing has happened so far. Exhausted, the residents of the colony collected donations among themselves and engaged in road construction. The residents of the colony were facing a lot of trouble during the rainy season. They had to park their vehicles away from home and reach home somehow. It is said that the local people collected donations and ploughed the soil from the tractor and spread it by doing Shramdaan themselves and made the road walkable. During this, Mangal Sharma, Das Babu, Lalvrat, Anil Singh, Nagendra Gupta, Sanjeev Srivastava etc. were present. In this regard, Chandprakash Jain, a member of BJP’s State Working Committee, resident of Khadpathar said that the local people are bearing the brunt of the negligence of Renukoot Nagar Panchayat. Even after joining the Nagar Panchayat, the people here are not getting basic facilities.
