In the Dharauli-Junaidpur-Gramm-Sabha of the Bahadurpur Development Bloc, the same family has ruled for three and a half decades. The villagers here have once again put their trust in this family. Once again, the mother of the former MLA Prashant Singh was elected Prime Minister by the Handia Assembly of the Samajwadi Party. He defeated his closest rival by a huge margin of voice. The victory began almost three and a half decades ago with Harishchandra Bahadur Singh. After that, the nephew held Pradhani’s chair unhindered twice. When the woman was seated, the daughter-in-law was chosen. This is why Harishchandra Bahadur Singh’s family from the village has been his messiah for the villagers for three decades. This time Shakuntala Devi, wife of the former MLA-late Maheshanarayan Singh and mother of the former Handia MLA Prashant Singh, was again the main candidate. Harishchandra Bahadur Singh from Dharauli-Junaidpur Gram Sabha from Bahadurpur Development Block first entered the village of Pradhani in 1982. He defeated his closest rival Ramlautan Singh by 60 votes. In 1987, at the urging of the villagers, he set up his nephew Mahesh Narayan Singh. He too was elected unopposed. Mahesh Narayan was re-elected unopposed in the 1992 Panchayat elections.

When Mahesh Narayan Singh denied Panchayat district in 1997, his wife Shakuntala Singh got up from Pradhani’s seat and was elected unopposed. Later the late Singh Handia was also an MLA of the Legislative Assembly. In 2005, when it was the seat of a backward female caste, Mr. Singh brought Fula Devi from the village to the ground and made him the undisputed head. When the seat became normal this time, Shakuntala Devi, the wife of the late MLA Maheshanarayan Singh and mother of his son, the former MLA Prashant Singh, denied Pradhani. By comparison, many candidates lined up, but the villagers here expressed their trust in the MLA family themselves. Shakuntala Singh defeated their closest rival by a huge margin of around 240 votes.
