On Saturday, Shah Rukh Khan made history at the Indian box office. After 2200 days, an original Hindi film crossed the collections of Aamir Khan’s mega-blockbuster Dangal. As per initial estimates, Pathan is looking to raise in the range of Rs. 22 to 24 cr on Saturday, total collection in Hindi Rs. 384 crore more. Pathan’s all India total is around Rs. 398 crores.
With this, Pathan has crossed Dangal’s lifetime collection in all languages – Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. For those who don’t know, Dangal grossed around Rs. picked up. 373 crores in Hindi and Rs. 387.38 crores in all versions. On Sunday morning, Pathan will emerge as the first Bollywood film to enter the Rs. Club for 400 crores at the box office in India. It has become the highest grossing Bollywood film of all time and is now on its way to surpassing the collections of KGF 2 and Baahubali 2.
KGF 2’s record will be broken in the next 5 days, and with this, Pathan will become the post-pandemic world’s highest grossing in the Hindi belt. The challenge will now be Baahubali 2, which he has beaten with Rs. 511 crore nett in Hindi. If Pathan crosses that number, it will become the highest grossing film of all time in the Hindi language as at the moment, the film is the highest grossing film of all time for the Hindi film industry.
Shah Rukh Khan last delivered the highest grossing of all time in 2013 with Chennai Express and now, exactly a decade later, he has scored another highest grossing in 2023.
