Gyanpur (Ballia). As Sixlane’s work on National Highway-19 is nearing completion, the misery of passers-by and drivers increases. The supply lane in the north lane has been flooded with dirty water for about a week due to the overflow of the runoff in front of the Gerai power plant. The water has now started to move towards the power plant site, adding to the difficulty of the employees. Those on the side of the road have warned of a demonstration if the overflow is not cleared.
Kamaruddin, Rehmat Ali, Rajendra Prasad, Rogen Ali, Kishore Chandra, Manoj etc. have questioned the authority that the work to convert Fourlane to Sixlane started about four years ago at about 2447 rupees. The 38 km long motorway of the 72 km long section from Handia-Rajatalab connects the western border of Unj and the eastern border with Babusarai.
Responsibilities assigned to the work units separately included underpass, bridging, partitions, bus stop and building lakhs rupee sewers along the supply lanes of the north-south end. About four months ago, when the Gopiganj Bridge was being built, the authority claimed 90 percent of the work was complete but failed to pay attention to the water-filled drain, which is now turning out to be a problem for Gopiganj residents on the highway.
Praveen Singh, Kamlesh, Yogesh Kumar, Suraj and Nagendra said the agency built the drain for their own convenience but was unable to direct their property in the right direction. As a result, the sewers on both sides of Gerai, Chhatmi, Jangiganj-Bazaar, Sufinagar-Godhana, Navdhan-Vahidnagar, Lalanagar, Natwan, Madhosingh, Maharajganj, Jayarampur-Ghosia could not yet be connected to the main drainage system. This is the reason why it cannot be said when and where dirty water’s turn will come by draining the drain from the trash in the residential areas and mixing the main pipes that come from the houses in the same drain.
Large vehicles off the main lane have started to interfere with the movement of the secondary lanes on foot, by bike or by bicycle due to dirty water from the drains and unbearable smell. Project Leader NHAI AK Rai said that such a problem occurred due to the failure of 10% of Sixlane’s work. After receiving the information, JCB cleaned the overflow drain
