Screening in jail, 16 potential tuberculosis patients found
Siddharthnagar. In the identification of tuberculosis patients, the health department has screened 802 prisoners lodged in the district jail and searched 16 patients with possible symptoms of TB. The department has sent everyone’s samples to the lab for testing.
According to the guidelines received from the state health department, in search of active TB patients, 802 prisoners lodged in the district jails were screened to look for patients with possible symptoms. Under the direction of jailer Rajesh Pandey and senior officer Pradeep Kumar Singh, the health department personnel lined up the prisoners in front of all the barracks and screened them showing symptoms of TB disease. During this period 16 prisoners showed possible symptoms of TB. Separating such patients, the department has taken samples of all and sent them to the lab for examination. Inmates with possible symptoms have been advised to take precaution till the test report comes.
District Program Coordinator Pankaj Tripathi told that after the instructions from the state, under the supervision of State Advisor Dr. Neeraj Kumar Pandey, screening was done to find active TB patients in the jail. Samples of those with possible symptoms have been taken. After getting the test report positive, treatment will be done according to the prescribed course. The Tuberculosis Department will also be monitoring continuously, so that patients can take health benefits by consuming the medicine. Dr. Afroz Nayyar, STS Firoz Ahmed, STLS Pradeep Gupta, Shams Parvez etc. were present during the screening.
