Ghazipur. Instead of giving the elementary school children sweaters and dresses, the funds are now transferred to their parents’ accounts. This system will be implemented from the current academic session. Two lakh 85 thousand 26 children studying in 2269 schools in the district will benefit. A total of 2269 basic schools are operated in the district. These schools include 1,468 primary schools, 352 high schools and 449 network schools. With the increase in the number of network schools, the number of primary schools has decreased by around 500 and that of the upper primary level by 350. The name of Composite Vidyalaya has now been changed to Composite Vidyalaya (Class I through VIII). Children who study at network schools also benefit from this. In the current meeting, the punctual distribution of the dress began. The account numbers of the parents will be taken over by the school principals, which will be entered on the Prerna portal by July 15th. This amount is expected to be paid into the parents’ account in August. Amit Kumar Rai, district education coordinator, said there is currently a system of giving two clothes to a child. The cost of these two dresses is 600 rupees. In order to maintain the transparency of the clothing distribution, this amount was transferred directly to the account of the legal guardian. He said that 200 rupees per child was set for sweaters, 260 rupees for shoe socks and 150 rupees for bags. Errors in the parents’ accounts for clothing distribution will be corrected.
