This Shivling turns black in Sawan, wheat in summer, and brown in summer. Jatashankar Pandey, general secretary of the temple, explains that excavations for the beautification of the temple were carried out in 1997 under the direction of the Shri Tileshwarnath Shringar Committee. Even after 20 feet of excavation, the end of the Shivling could not be found. Mahadev Gosai, the priest of the temple, told of the secret of the Shivling that this Shivling left the chapad (upper layer) in the month of Sawan, but has not been touched by anyone until today. He said that any wish made with a sincere heart will definitely be granted.
