Barhaj. The water level of the Saryu River is rising rapidly. The river’s water level has risen 10 cm in the past 24 hours. In such a situation, the river now flows 15 cm above the danger mark. The people of the coastal village are worried about this.
On Saturday the river flowed at 66.65 meters, 15 cm above the danger mark of 66.50 meters. This year the river had withdrawn to about 70 cm above the danger mark. For the past four days, the river has turned angry again from the rise in water levels. The first village of Bhadila became Marund due to the rise in the water level. Whereas the flood reaches the residential areas via the fields. The inhabitants of the coastal villages such as Gaura-Kateilwa, Kaparwar, Mathias, Nauktola, Mehiywan etc. have lost sleep due to the inflow in the river. People worry about flooding. SDM Sanjeev Kumar Yadav said the river was making progress. Preparations for flood-like opportunities have been completed.
