After many people died from drinking toxic liquor in Aligarh district, police teams in Rajapur and Mau, including headquarters, raided liquor stores across the district to grocery stores in rural areas. Liquor-making equipment and other materials have been recovered from some locations. It is worth noting that on 22./23. Seven people died and more than 20 fell ill on March 23rd of this year after consuming counterfeit spirits in Khopa and neighboring villages in the Rajapur region.
In the villages of Lamiari, Chandi, Bakta Khurd, Sardhua and Hanumanganj in the Tirhar area, a joint team of SDM Raj Bahadur, Circle Officer Shivprakash and Excise Inspector Rajesh Yadav destroyed 60 kg of lahan and equipment. SDM Raj Bahadur said domestic and UK liquor stores were also inspected. In which the owners and sellers of stores like Lamiari, Sardhua, Rajapur, etc. were instructed to work by rules. It was warned that sales should only be made at government-set prices. In many places, spirits manufacturers were caught under the leadership of SDM Ramprakash and CO Sheetla Prasad Pandey at the headquarters. In addition, checks were carried out in the grocery stores in the village next to the headquarters.
