Sant Kabir Nagar. The district leads the Gorakhpur-Basti Division in providing basic health and nutrition services to the community on Village Health and Nutrition Day. While Deoria, Kushinagar are on the list of poorly performing districts. In this regard, the Mission Director of the National Health Mission Arpana Upadhyay has given instructions for improvement in the underperforming districts.
In a letter to the Chief Medical Officers, the mission director stated that providing basic health and nutrition services to the community on Village Health and Nutrition Day is the state government’s top priority. For the purpose of improving the quality of the health services offered at VHND meetings, the meetings are regularly monitored by state, county and UNICEF inspectors. When reviewing the supervisory information received in June 2021, it was found that better work had been done in Bahraich, Sant Kabir Nagar, Balrampur, Chitrakoot, Shahjahanpur, Azamgarh. The weakest districts are Deoria, Ballia, Ghazipur, Kushinagar, Moradabad, Barabanki, Mau, Sitaram. The letter mentions that Deoria, Ballia and Moradabad districts have performed poorly in VHND health care meetings for three consecutive months. The mission director directed that every month at the district health services review meeting, while the VHND meetings were discussed with less success than expected, ensure that efforts should be made to better achieve the goal. It is worth noting that arrangements will be made at the VNDD meeting for the screening and vaccination of pregnant, breastfeeding, adolescent girls, and vaccination and feeding of infants. In this regard, CMO Dr. Indra Vijay Vishwakarma that continuous efforts are being made to further improve health services. Further improvements will be seen in the coming days.
