Sampling of the sugar cane harvest at Shamli Mill started
Pubic. A sample survey with GPS devices was started to assess the sugar cane harvest from all sugar factories in the district. For the one-week survey, 45 villages from sugar factories of the district’s Sugar Cane Council were included.
Under the direction of Deepak Rana, Senior Manager of the Upper Doab Sugar Mill and Senior Cane Inspector Premnarayan Shukla, the mill team has started investigating the sugar cane harvest in the village of Gurjarpur Taprana. From this sample survey, how is the sugar cane harvest, the area has decreased or increased, whether the harvest is good or weak, the survey shows the trend of the harvest. The report is sent through the department to the Lucknow Sugar Cane Department.
At the end of the sugar cane milling season, after the sugar cane has been sown, the sugar cane mill and the sugar cane department conduct a joint sugar cane survey. The district’s sugar factory villages are selected by the sugar cane department for a sample survey. This year 45 villages from the district’s sugar mills were sampled. These include 25 Shamli Sugarcane Council villages, 11 Wool Sugarcane Council villages and nine Thanabhavan Sugarcane Council villages.
Prem Narayan Shukla, senior sugar cane inspector for Shamli Sugarcane Council, and Deepak Rana, senior sugar cane manager at Shamli sugar factory, said nine villages were included in the Shamli mill’s sugar cane sample. The sample survey will be completed in a week. Vijay Bahadur Singh District Sugar Cane Commissioner said 45 villages were included in the sugar cane sample.
