Saharanpur. The condition of buses of Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation is bad. If rubber-plated tires are being installed, then the headlight is being tied with a wire to stop. The indicators are even broken and the pieces are being put on when the floor is broken. The statement given by the Minister of State for Transport, Ashok Kataria, on the condition of the buses, is also completely correct. Because the authorities are not paying any attention to the condition of the buses. Many roadways drivers even told that if the goods are not available for repair, then how will the repair be done.
About 200 buses are being operated from Saharanpur to Dehradun, Haridwar, Delhi, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Yamunanagar etc. To know the condition of these buses, the Amar Ujala team reached the roadways bus stand near the railway station on Tuesday. The condition of the bus going to Haridwar there was worth seeing, as the bus indicator was broken. Dirt was spread under the seats inside the bus. Bidi and gutkha pouches were spread. In such a situation, it is very difficult for the passengers to travel in roadways buses. The operator working on this bus said that the repair material is not getting on time. On Monday, this bus broke down on its way to Haridwar, which was later brought to the workshop somehow.
The tire of another bus parked behind this bus was wrapped in polythene, which is mounted between the rubber-plated tyres. Apart from this bus, rubber plated tires are being installed in other buses as well. Because for a long time the purchase of tires was not done by the Transport Corporation. However, officials say that now new tires have started coming. Retreaded (rubber mounted) tires are mounted at the rear.
Buses are cleaned and washed daily. Repairs are also done when needed. There was a problem with the tyres, but now it is going away. Tires have been procured from the headquarters, out of which Saharanpur region has also started getting tires. Jagdish Singh, Assistant Regional Manager, Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation
