Roadways – 10290 sisters travel free in roadways buses on Rakshabandhan

Pilibhit. On Rakshabandhan, roadways made free travel for sisters for 24 hours. During this, tickets were issued to 10290 women with zero balance of Rs 1026118. While 20882 men traveled during this period. However, considering the number of passengers, the buses proved to be insufficient.
On Raksha Bandhan, the Chief Minister had given the gift of free travel to the sisters by roadways buses. This will facilitate easy movement of women. Instructions were given by the Transport Corporation to issue zero balance tickets to women from the night of August 21 to the night of 22. However, tickets were being given to men only after paying the fare. Due to this, 10290 women traveled by buses on the day of Rakshabandhan. Due to this, tickets of Rs 1026118 were issued by roadways to these women with zero balance. Apart from this, 20882 men had traveled during this period. Roadways earned an income of Rs 2452038 from this. However, due to the pathetic condition of the roadways buses, people faced a lot of difficulty in traveling by bus on the day of Raksha Bandhan. Roadways depot in-charge Dinanath said that the buses had already been prepared for Rakshabandhan. Apart from this, all efforts were made to provide better facilities to the passengers.
