The villages adjacent to the embankment are Belauli, Khaira, Tharauli, Dumariababu, Vishunpur, Kusauna, Tiwaripur, Bandumar, Badhya Thachar, Jorwa, Chhapia Parag, Naugo, Belauha, standing at the mouth of the Karmaini river. The people of these villages are apprehensive about the possibility of floods after hearing the news of rising water level and the river going upstream from the danger mark. DK Sahai, Executive Engineer of Drainage Section, while inspecting the embankment, gave necessary directions to the departmental officers and employees to secure the embankment. Along with monitoring the embankment, instructions were issued to conduct flood prevention work on a war footing. Assistant Engineer Ramujagir Lal said that the water level of Rapti has come five centimeters above the red mark. The river is still rising. Elaborate arrangements are being made for the security of the embankment as per the requirement.
