Rain, civic, hamirpur – People alert due to rise in water level of rivers

Hamirpur. Due to the rise in the water level of the Betwa river, the district administration has alerted the people in the neighborhoods and villages on the banks. In view of this, people are busy in arranging household items. By placing goods on the roofs of pucca houses, they are engaged in applying foil to protect them from rain. Jairam, Chutka and others have kept household items on the road after flood water reached the houses built on the Rath State Highway. The gas godown at Kuchechha has been evacuated due to water filling. The gas cylinders are kept on the side of the highway. On the other hand, the water of the Betwa river has been flooded due to the sinking of the soil that was put to carry goods etc. for the construction work of the highway overbridge near City Forest. Devicharan, a resident of Chudaman Dera located near the confluence of the city, said that the administration has issued an alert. They are worried about having a kutcha house. Water is likely to reach their homes by late night. Rajesh Kumar Yadav said that first they are busy in transporting straw etc. for cattle to safe places. When the water rises, they will take household items and go to a safe place. In the year 2019, the entire house was submerged. This time again it looks like there will be a flood. Vinod Kumar, resident of Kesaria Dera told that the house is pucca. But flood water comes inside the house. He is making arrangements to keep things on the roof. Due to flood in the Betwa river, the traffic to Para village has come to a standstill due to water logging on the way to Kandaur village. Due to which the villagers of Kandaur village have to go through another route to Indian Bank branch in Para village. Villagers are coming by detour from another route. Para village residents Kallu Tiwari, Randhir Singh etc. told that the traffic is closed due to water filling in Kandaur road.
