Shahjahanpur. Work on connecting the broad-gauge railway at Shahjahanpur and Pilibhit stations on the North Eastern Railway began on Thursday. A block of one week is planned for this. The preliminary, blocking and renovation work will be carried out during the block itself. There were no passenger trains on Thursday during this time, so some trains passed through Ghaziabad, Kanpur.
Work on the interlocking-free and courtyard conversion on the broad-gauge line began in the morning. The preparations for this have been going on in the last few days. DRM Tarun Prakash also took stock of the preparations with all officers on Wednesday and ordered all officers to do the work of their respective departments on time.
Due to the interlocking-free preparatory work that began on Thursday, there were cancellations, diversions and cancellations of trains. Once the work has been completed, the way will be cleared from here for the operation of new trains. Rail traffic will remain impaired until July 28 due to renovation and non-interlocking work. After receiving the lock on Thursday, until July 28, 16 trains were canceled while the route of 15 trains was changed.
